(credit: Mike Lynch)

There’s a nice conjunction of three bright stars that form a triangle in the low western sky these early evenings, best seen between 9:30 and 10 p.m.

Two of the stars are actually the planets Mars and Saturn. Mars appears a copper-ish red to even the naked eye and with even a small telescope you can at least partially resolve the rings of Saturn.

Over the next several weeks Mars will move eastward and move right between Saturn and Mars.
